The $25.5 Million upgrade transformed this disused and lifeless building into the gleaming house of the State Cabinet meeting room, the Cabinet Secretariat and the Office of the Premier. The refurbished ground floor contains a ceremonial entry, reception and waiting areas, courtyard, offices and meeting rooms, cabinet room and cabinet lounge, along with kitchen, administration and service functions with the first floor housing meeting and conference rooms, offices, waiting rooms and service areas.
Ascent Structural Steel was contracted to supply and install the structural steel for this upgrade while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of all the members, including fully fabricated lantern roof frames over 9 meters in width and over 15 meters in length.
